Project Description

Insight Planning & Development was contracted to prepare the Town of North Topsail Beach CAMA Land Use Plan update. The plan was prepared to comply with the requirements of 15A NCAC 7B – State Guidelines for Land Use Planning. The overriding message from the planning process was that the Town must achieve managed growth while considering environmental conditions, natural hazard threats, and development pressures. Balanced growth, density of development, and the protection of valuable coastal resources were primary concerns among residents who participated in the planning process. The plan included an assessment of existing conditions, a summary of public input, projection of future needs for topics relating to land use and development, and a comprehensive listing of goals, policies, and strategies.
